Mushrooms are growing everywhere.

So we grabbed the closest truffle dog…

…and headed for the forest!

It was damp and dark and perfect for mushrooms.

The truffle dog began her hunt.  Not much at first.

But then she picked up the scent!

But these aren’t edible.

And these aren’t edible.

And these aren’t edible.

And these aren’t edible.

And these aren’t edible.

And these aren’t edible.

And these aren’t edible.

And these aren’t edible.

And these aren’t edible.

These might be edible.

These actually are edible, but not what we want.

We stop for a bit by the stream.

For lunch.

And belly rubs.

After lunch, Flower finally hunts the right mushrooms.

Then she hunts more and more.

She also hunts the ones we’ve already picked.

After a couple of hours we walk back with our score.

Unfortunately, we only found a few.

Mushroom-based meals are prepared in the cabin.

And the remainder are sent home in freezable bags.

Some trattkantarell in me, twice as many in Flower.
